IPG Solutions Power Supply

The IPG85 Power Supply Unit (also known as The Macht85 PSU) comprises of an Alternator that produces the AC electricity, a Power Control and Management System that manages the electricity and is enclosed within an IP55 rated enclosure that houses and protects all the equipment.
The enclosure’s outer skin is manufactured from 2mm painted steel sheet.

The PSUs are/can:

  • built in our manufacturing facility in Atlantis Cape Town.
  • can be installed throughout South Africa and in the neighbouring states, as well as internationally. Our Installation teams can install and commission in any location.
  • are modular in configuration and can be connected in parallel, into a larger central generating mini grid.
  • are compliant to the Eskom/Municipal Distribution Network Point of Connection requirements.
  • are built in accordance to ISO9000 and CE standards.

The PSU can be utilised in both Grid Tied or Off Grid applications.

The PSU is silent running, there are no vibrations into the ground. It is aesthetically painted and non-invasive with very little environmental impact. The PSU can be installed in any terrestrial location.

A 15kW/hr Power Supply Unit typically occupies a 5m2 footprint and a 1,500kW/hr Power Supply Unit typically occupies about 72m2 and is mounted on a concrete plinth. A boundary barrier is placed at 1m from the concrete plinth. The concrete plinth and barrier form part of and are included in the PSU installation.

The PSU is compliant to the Electricity Regulation Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Municipal By-law requirements, SANS Regulations and we adhere and apply the relevant ISO standards during manufacture.

The PSU does not require an environmental impact assessment (EIA).

The PSU is compliant to grid connection requirements.

The PSU is very easily and quickly installed minimising any disturbances and disruptions.

There is no risk of load shedding or power outages when using the IPG Power Supply Unit.

Management and Maintenance of the PSU:

The PSU is equipped with a management system, that will remotely manage all equipment and systems within the unit, which will ensure real time data. The client will be able to access their power usage via a mobile application, at any time.

The PSU is covered by a 5-year warranty and an inclusive 10-year maintenance plan. As well as a 30 day back money guarantee, should the PSU not meet the performance characteristics as ordered.

The 5-year warranty covers all components due to defective and or poor workmanship however the warranty does not cover abuse, fair wear and tear, and acts of God.

The 10-year maintenance plan encompasses the activities necessary to service and maintain the PSU in good working order and includes travel, spares and consumables however the maintenance plan does not cover abuse and acts of God.

On the expiry of the maintenance plan, the option to extend can be negotiated.

The PSU comes standard with an inbuilt data acquisition and management system. The management system monitors set parameters within the PSU and relays that data back to the control management centre on a 24/7 basis to proactively monitor the serviceability and service intervals of the PSU.

How does the PSU integrate / connect with the existing infrastructure?

The Supply from the municipal connection is removed/interrupted.

The supply from the PSU is coupled to the Client’s Distribution Board.

A simple straight forward connection.

Delivery:

PSUs are only manufactured to order. Delivery will be 8 to 20 weeks depending on the PSU series ordered.

Statutory authorisations and licencing (National and local authority), if applicable, is for the client’s account.

IPG does not guarantee the granting of licences, as this is a function of a statutory organisation over which we do not have control.
